INFN-CNAF

CNAF is the National Center of INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics) for Research and Development into the field of Information Technologies applied to High-Energy physics experiments.

CNAF is involved into the management and development at National level of the most important information and Data transmission services of support for the INFN.

In the year 2005 has been inaugurated at CNAF the Italian TIER1 for LHC experiments which rappresents the most relevant centre for computer calculus of INFN and one of the most important centers for distributed calculus in Italy.

The management and the development of TIER1 at the moment are the first activity of CNAF and employ the greatest part of the economic and human resources.

CNAF people are involved since many years into the development and management of GRID Infrastructures in the Italian territory (IGI), European (EGI) and International (LHC Computing GRID) and they take care about their project's and middleware's development functions.
