IDEAS FOR IBM TESTING IN THE LAN

Legenda

TBs = Token Bucket size
PBs = Premium Buffer size
PR  = Premium Rate (percentage of total bandwidth)
ABs = Assured Buffer size
AR  = Assured Rate (percentage of total bandwidth)


1) TCP
   TBs = 11000 (const.)
   PBs = 5500, 7000, etc.

2) TCP
   TBs = 11000 (const.)
   PBs = const. (depending on test 2 results)
   PR =  8% --> 19%

3)  Several Premium streams (TCP)

4)  UDP
    Repeat Assure+BE (both 2 Mbps)  (see test 4) to see the shared
    buffer behaviour

5)  UDP
    similar to test 4, but with different source rates:
    Assured source rate = committed rate
    BE source rate = 2 Mbps or more
    (We want to see if in this situation the assured stream is able to
    have a guaranteed bandwidth)

6)  Premium, TCP
    Different packet size

7)  TCP assured and UDP BE 

7a) 1 TCP assured + variable number of TCP BE streams.

8)  test 3, with different premium shared sizes (premium bandwidth
    constant, bw percentage assigned to each TCP premium traffic
    constant, e.g. 50%, 30%, 20%)

9)  test 3, with constant premium shared size and variable premium
    bandwidth (bw percentage assigned to each TCP premium traffic 
    constant, e.g. 50%, 30%, 20%)

10) Several Assured streams with different bandwidth (UDP)

11) Variable assured shared buffer size
