How to configure eduroam/INFN-dot1x for WINDOWS XP users

  • Start -> Connect to -> Show all connections

  • Select “Wireless Network Connection”, then right-click and select Properties

  • In the tab Wireless Networks, select INFN-dot1x or eduroam, and then click on Properties.

  • Make sure the entries in the dialog are like the ones you see below. In the tab Associations: Network Autentication WPA2, Data encryption AES. Alternatively: Network Autentication WPA, Data encryption TKIP

  • In the tab Authentication, please verify the EAP type is set with SecureW2 TTLS
  • Click on Properties to visualize the configuration Secure W2
  • If the INFN-dot1x/eduroam profile does not exist, add it with “New”
  • Click “Configure” to configure the INFN-dot1x/eduroam profile

  • In the tab Connection, de-select “Use alternate outer identity”

  • In the tab Certificates, please verify the INFN CA certificate is present; otherwise add it (“Add CA”) from a list

  • In the tab Authentication, please select PAP as Authentication method

  • In the tab User Account, select “Prompt user for credentials”, or insert your credentials
